Meet The Face Behind Cogent Green Electrical Solutions Ltd.
Josh Lust is the proud owner of Cogent Green Electrical Solutions Ltd.
We look forward to sharing his story and hope that you will enjoy getting to know him better.
During Josh’s high school summer holidays, he wanted to make extra pocket money, so he took up an apprenticeship as an electrician. He enjoyed the role as it allowed him to meet new people and work on projects, and he exceeded expectations.
The experience had such a profound effect on him that once he completed his studies, he went into the electrical field full-time and enthusiastically learned his trade. However, after fifteen years of gaining valuable expertise, he sought a fresh challenge.
He endeavored to offer professional services focusing on customer satisfaction and reliability, so he decided to set up a commercial and residential electrical contracting company in 2018.
He got into the business the old-fashioned way, by bootstrapping a client list and networking within the community. Two years on, he has streamlined operations by implementing quality systems that deliver accurate estimates, procurement, and scheduling of his services.
He renders reliable services, and as an individual, he believes what sets him apart from the others is his honesty. Hence, clients trust him to execute efficient electrical solutions on time and budget, no matter the size.
Josh attributes his success to his hard work and persistence in delivering a high level of excellence in every project, and he has hired a full-time field manager who is fantastic at taking care of clients and their jobs.
He also feels that it is rewarding to finish a job and do the final walkthrough with clients. Witnessing all the happy smiles makes all the sweat (and sometimes blood and tears) during a project worthwhile.
While all projects are special to him, the gemstone lighting upgrade completed on Duncan’s world’s largest hockey stick stands out. Officially launching it at a Cowichan Capitals hockey game with a custom-designed lighting pattern to match the team colors was a proud moment for Josh.
When he isn’t lighting up peoples’ lives, he loves spending time with his beautiful wife of sixteen years, playing basketball with his three sons, and trail running with his dog Bruce.
He also supports the Stollery Children’s Hospital, as it’s an organization that is close to his heart. Since his oldest son was born, he’s had several surgeries, and he feels that the fantastic hospital staff go above and beyond to help families like his in times of need.
We have enjoyed sharing Josh’s story about the things which matter to him and how they influence the way he does business.
